You’ll have 65 minutes on your lane which includes a safety and how to throw introduction from one of our trained axe coaches.
We also have food and beverage for purchase on site!
We are Vancouver’s only full service axe house with our own food and drinks. We offer both projection style, end grain targets as well as traditional plank bullseye boards. We pride ourselves on our focus of both safety and service and our team cares that each group that comes in, whether you have thrown a hundred times or this is your first time-we want you to feel the thrill of hitting that bullseye! And of course we are in the coolest building on Main Street (not that we are bias in anyway-haha). We love all the history being in the old Fire Station 2 location-come check in out!
Our insurance currently allows ages 10 and up to throw. This might be lowered just for kid leagues and throwing academies.
Kids of all ages are welcome to watch and to come in for food. We have a 21+ only area at our bar where kids are not allowed but everywhere else if family friendly.
Yes! We have our own parking lot and overflow parking on the street and nearby Safeway parking lot as well.
Yes-not everyone on your team has to throw. Some can just come eat and drink and cheer you on! We do ask that you keep the lane count to about 5 so we don’t overcrowd our throwing bays.
Yes! We are pretty excited to be able to offer some really yummy food options-things you can share or eat alone for a full meal and a whole host of great drink options on an ever changing beer and cocktail list. We currently offer everything in cans and bottles and will soon add in poured cocktails and taps as well.
Absolutely! And it is highly recommended especially for our evenings and weekends to be able to reserve and guarantee your lane.

Not at this time-we will allow owned axes to be thrown in League Play once they have been inspected and approved by our team.

It is required that you wear close-toed shoes while throwing. That is about all you need to bring. That and a readiness to have a great time!
We don’t pair groups on individual lanes but other throwers may be next to you on the adjacent lane.
Our axe coaches will help you find your style of throwing that you are comfortable with and most effective for you-we have a few different axes to try out and there are several ways to throw them. We have had the pleasure of having Lucas Johnson, a World Champion Axe and Knife thrower, out to help coach our coaches in being the best instructors for our throwers and they will in turn help you as well! It isn’t easy but that’s part of the fun-practicing and learning and then nailing the bullseye or going for the trickier Killshot!
You will always get a safety set up with your axe coach before each throwing session and some instruction on how to nail that bullseye. Sometimes the coach may stay the whole time and sometimes they might help on an off and check in depending on what you desire and how experienced you are in throwing. We have a lot of game options as well and your coach can help you with all of them if you’d like.
Yes. Truly. However, we take safety very seriously and do safety set ups with every group to make sure you can have fun and be safe too. Humans are wild creatures and like to live on the edge and while we want to you enjoy yourself fully, if you are not following the safety instructions of the staff or get too rowdy, we may have to ask you to stop throwing or leave.
As long as you cancel 24 hours before your axe-perience, we can quickly issue you a credit for the deposit that you paid to reserve your lane. If it is less than 24 hours before, we will not be able to refund in credit or otherwise.
We are a reservation style business with some walk-in options so if you are late for your scheduled time, we might still be able to let you throw but you may not get the full time. We will do our best to accommodate but please try to be on time so you get the full axe-perience you paid for.
You reserve your lanes with a 1 player deposit per target and then pay the balance after your throwing experience. Your deposit is non-refundable but if you give us more than 24 hours before your schedule time, we can issue you a gift card for that pre-paid deposit that never expires.

You bet! Firehouse Axes is a great size for a full rent out; we have room for throwers, bystanders, socializing, and much more. We can also add in our food and beverage package as well if that works best for your group. Absolutely! Axe throwing is an interactive, safe and fun activity for company team builds. We can do smaller groups for just one department or we can host everyone by renting out the facility. Once we are open and have gathered interest for our League play, we will be adding it into our schedule. We want to make it accessible for all and will also look at offering Youth Leagues and other throwing options as well. Check out our League Link under special events to sign up for more information.
